IAMSE Educational Scholarship and Curriculum Innovation Grants
Description:
The International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE) wishes to encourage and support scholarships in medical science education and will fund multiple educational scholarship and curriculum innovation grants this year for up to $5000 each.
The purpose of the IAMSE Educational Scholarship Grants is to make funds available to support projects designed to systematically collect and analyze data related to medical education, which may employ a variety of methods but seeks to produce generalizable information for dissemination.
The purpose of the IAMSE Curriculum Innovation Grants is to make funds available to support projects designed for the general enrichment of teaching and learning that go beyond normal expectations of a faculty member, including but not limited to advances in pedagogy, technology, content development, or professional development.
For both award categories, preference will be given to new projects. Funding is for a 2-year period, to be paid in two $2,500 annual payments unless the need for additional funds in year 1 is clearly described in the budget justification. Mid-year progress reports will be submitted to the IAMSE Educational Scholarship Committee. The Principal Investigator (PI) of each funded project will be awarded an additional $1,500 travel award to present the results of their grant research at a future IAMSE conference. Any scholarship (e.g., publications, posters) resulting from IAMSE-funded research must acknowledge the IAMSE Grant on the work. If the research project involves human subjects, a letter of approval from the host Institutional Review Board stating that the project is approved or that approval was not necessary will be required prior to disbursement of funds, and within 90 days of notification or the award will be rescinded.
Eligibility:
IAMSE members are eligible to submit a grant proposal. Members may submit only one proposal per year and may not be an author on any other grants currently receiving IAMSE funding. PIs who have received IAMSE grant funding are not eligible to apply in subsequent years.
