Scott Oppler joined the
Association of American Medical Colleges in
June 2007 where he serves as the Director of
MCAT Development and Research. He and his
staff are responsible for the development
and implementation of research concerning
the psychometric properties of the Medical
College Admission Test and its use in the
selection of medical students in the United
States and Canada. Prior to coming to the
AAMC, Dr. Oppler served as a Managing
Research Scientist for the American
Institutes for Research, where we worked in
their Georgetown office for 18 years. He is
the author or co-author of more than 50
journal articles, book chapters, or
conference presentations concerning the
measurement or prediction of human
abilities, achievement, or performance. Dr.
Oppler received his PhD in
industrial-organizational psychology from
the University of Minnesota in 1990.
