Dr. Matthew C. Holtman,
PhD |
|

Dr. Matthew C. Holtman,
PhD is Director of Developmental Programs at
the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME)
in Philadelphia, where he helps lead the
transition of new assessment programs from
the proof-of-concept stage to operational
status. He is closely involved in the
development of the Assessment of
Professional Behaviors, a multisource
feedback tool initially intended for medical
residents. Prior to working at the NBME, he
was with Family Health International in
Research Triangle Park, North Carolina,
where he conducted research on the provision
of reproductive health services in countries
such as Egypt, Mexico, and Bangladesh. He
has taught courses in statistics, research
methods, and criminology, most recently at
the University of Pennsylvania's Fels
Institute of Government. His research
interests include professionalism, error,
and social networks. He holds a PhD in
Sociology from the University of
Pennsylvania.
